A close reading of GSMArena laboratory tests reveals a bright, capable HONOR 600 Pro with strong cameras and battery life but notable compromises at around $800.
The HONOR 600 Pro has the screen, cameras and battery life to make expensive flagships uncomfortable. Its biggest weakness is that, at around $800, it has to compete with them directly.
The most revealing number in GSMArena's HONOR 600 Pro review isn't the 200MP camera resolution, the 7,000mAh battery advertised for international markets, or even the remarkable 6,000-nit result recorded during a small-area brightness test. It's 50%: how far the phone's GPU performance dropped in a prolonged graphics stress test. For a device powered by a Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, that deserves attention. Not because the HONOR 600 Pro is slow—it isn't—but because it illustrates the compromises hiding inside an otherwise impressive premium smartphone. The 600 Pro combines a manageable 6.57-inch display, proper telephoto photography, strong battery endurance and fast charging. It also offers six years of software support. This is a phone that gets the everyday experience remarkably right while leaving a few questions unanswered for demanding buyers.
HONOR isn't particularly subtle about its design influences. The orange finish and flat-sided silhouette invite comparisons with recent iPhones. GSMArena's reviewer praises the grippy matte back, broad aluminum frame and relatively compact proportions. At 6.57 inches, the screen is smaller than those of many oversized flagship phones. A dedicated hardware button can trigger customizable AI shortcuts or serve as a camera shutter control. That second function may be the more useful one for capturing photographs quickly. The phone also carries IP69K protection and additional durability certification. Resistance ratings should never be interpreted as permission to expose a phone carelessly to water or repeated impacts. The design isn't especially original. The execution, according to the reviewer, is convincing.
The HONOR 600 Pro's OLED display is one of its strongest features. GSMArena measured over 1,700 nits in automatic high-brightness conditions. In a test covering a small portion of the display, brightness climbed to approximately 6,000 nits. The small-area result doesn't mean the entire screen can sustain that brightness while reading a webpage or watching a video. For everyday usability, the measured automatic brightness is arguably more relevant. The screen has narrow bezels, good sharpness and a 120Hz refresh rate. But there is an omission: no LTPO technology. The panel cannot reduce its refresh rate as aggressively as more sophisticated flagship displays. The reviewer reports a minimum of 60Hz. The screen is outstanding in brightness. It isn't the most complete display technology available at this price.
Rather than use a current mid-range chipset, HONOR equipped the 600 Pro with Qualcomm's former flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite. The reviewer finds the phone fast, responsive and capable of handling demanding games. Benchmark performance sits broadly alongside high-end devices from the previous generation. The problem appears under sustained load.
| Stress test | Performance retained |
|---|---|
| Prolonged CPU stress test | Approximately 75% |
| Prolonged GPU stress test | Approximately 50% |
The CPU result is respectable. The GPU result indicates considerably more performance reduction. That doesn't mean games suddenly become unplayable, or establish precisely how every title performs after an hour. Stress tests apply sustained workloads that may be more demanding than normal use. But for buyers spending around $800 specifically to get a high-performance gaming phone, this is a limitation worth investigating.
The HONOR 600 Pro has flagship-level processing power. It doesn't maintain all of that power equally well under prolonged pressure.
There isn't just one battery configuration.
GSMArena tested the European model, recording an Active Use Score of approximately 18 hours. That's a strong result. The larger 7,000mAh variant may last longer, but the European-unit test does not establish exactly how much longer. Battery capacity is not battery endurance. Software, display efficiency and chipset power consumption still matter.
The 600 Pro supports 80W wired charging.
| Charging milestone | GSMArena measured result |
|---|---|
| 30 minutes | 71% |
| Full charge | Approximately 48 minutes |
Getting to 71% in half an hour is genuinely convenient. The phone also supports 50W wireless charging and reverse wireless charging. These measured figures are more informative than advertised wattage alone. Charging speeds depend on compatible accessories and test conditions.
The HONOR 600 Pro includes three rear cameras:
| Camera | Configuration |
|---|---|
| Main | 200MP |
| Telephoto | 50MP, 3.5x optical zoom |
| Ultrawide | 12MP, autofocus |
| Selfie | 50MP |
The presence of a dedicated 3.5x telephoto camera is particularly important. At this price, a useful zoom lens can improve photography more than an impressive main-camera megapixel count alone. It changes how you frame portraits, distant architecture and everyday subjects. GSMArena's reviewer finds that the telephoto camera delivers.
The main camera produces detailed photographs with appealing color and well-managed contrast. The reviewer is especially positive about portraits, noting pleasing skin tones and strong facial detail. A camera can capture impressive textures and still make people look unnatural; here, the balance appears convincing. The 2x digital crop performs well without excessive sharpening spoiling the result. The 3.5x telephoto camera is another highlight. GSMArena praises its detail, colors and dynamic range, while noting attractive subject separation in portraits. Even 7x digitally cropped photographs remain surprisingly usable. The ultrawide camera is capable in daylight, although its processing can occasionally make scenes look overly contrasty. Taken together, this is a genuinely versatile camera system.
The telephoto camera has a relatively long minimum focusing distance, making it poorly suited to some close-up subjects. The reviewer instead demonstrates close-up photographs from the main and ultrawide cameras. This is not a fatal flaw, but a dedicated zoom camera doesn't automatically replace a macro lens.
The main camera continues to perform well after dark. GSMArena praises its detail, color reproduction and white balance, although some photographs could benefit from brighter exposure. The telephoto camera remains useful in better-lit nighttime scenes. In darker areas, details become softer. The ultrawide camera also produces acceptable nighttime photographs, despite less impressive sharpness. Then the reviewer switches from still photography to video. The verdict becomes much less flattering. The main camera maintains strong nighttime video quality, while the telephoto delivers a more mixed result. The ultrawide camera performs so poorly in the reviewer's low-light footage that he considers it practically unusable for that purpose.
A phone can have a good ultrawide camera for nighttime photos and still be a poor choice for nighttime ultrawide video.
Those are different workloads, and treating them as interchangeable would give buyers the wrong impression.
The main and telephoto cameras can record up to 4K at 60fps. The ultrawide and selfie cameras top out at 4K/30fps. Daylight footage from the main and telephoto cameras looks reasonably consistent, with good sharpness, accurate exposure and vibrant colors. But the reviewer notices a subtle weakness in electronic stabilization. Walking footage can show a floating or gently wavy movement. This may not bother someone recording occasional clips. It becomes more relevant if you frequently shoot handheld walking videos. A good camera phone should not be judged solely by how sharp a stationary frame looks. How footage behaves while the photographer moves is just as important.
GSMArena is enthusiastic about the selfie camera's image quality. The reviewer praises detail, skin tones and exposure. But the camera lacks autofocus. For a premium phone with such an ambitious rear-camera system, that omission feels unnecessary. Fixed focus can work well at typical selfie distances. It is less adaptable when subjects move closer or farther from the lens. For someone who regularly records themselves at different distances, autofocus could be more useful than another headline megapixel figure.
The HONOR 600 Pro runs MagicOS 10 on Android 16. Its interface includes translucent visual effects, a Magic Capsule notification area and several AI-focused features. Magic Portal lets users act on selected content through contextual suggestions. AI Memories provides a way to save information for later reference. Other features include translation, subtitles, photo editing and AI-generated image-to-video clips. The reviewer demonstrates the available tools, but the video doesn't establish how reliably they work over months of use. An AI feature can be entertaining during a demonstration without becoming useful in daily life. The more relevant question is whether it saves time, improves accessibility or removes a recurring inconvenience. One stronger long-term argument is HONOR's commitment to six operating-system updates and six years of security patches. That support period makes the phone more credible as a device intended to last.
There are several reasons not to treat the HONOR 600 Pro as an automatic recommendation. The display is bright but lacks LTPO. The processor is powerful but belongs to an older flagship generation. Sustained GPU performance falls substantially in GSMArena's stress test. The selfie camera lacks autofocus. The ultrawide camera struggles badly with nighttime video. And the price is high enough that buyers can reasonably consider phones with newer processors or different flagship strengths. None of these shortcomings individually ruins the device. Together, they explain why the purchasing decision is less straightforward than the impressive specifications suggest.
| Category | GSMArena result or observation |
|---|---|
| Display | Excellent brightness; no LTPO |
| Automatic display brightness | Over 1,700 nits |
| Small-area peak brightness | Approximately 6,000 nits |
| CPU performance | Strong, with 75% retained in stress test |
| GPU stress performance | Falls to approximately 50% |
| Battery endurance | About 18 hours on European model |
| Charging | 71% in 30 minutes; full in 48 minutes |
| Main camera | Excellent daylight photos |
| Telephoto | Strong 3.5x results |
| Ultrawide photos | Good, occasionally too contrasty |
| Selfies | Excellent quality; no autofocus |
| Night video | Main camera good; ultrawide poor |
| Video stabilization | Some floating or waviness while walking |
| Software support | Six OS updates and six years of security patches |
Figures and judgments reflect GSMArena's tested review unit and published observations, not independent Belliste testing.
The HONOR 600 Pro makes the strongest case for buyers who want a relatively manageable premium phone with excellent display brightness, strong still photography and dependable battery endurance. Its dedicated telephoto camera is a particular attraction. It also suits users who want flagship-class responsiveness without necessarily paying for the most expensive model in a manufacturer's lineup. The phone's six-year software commitment adds to its appeal for long-term ownership.
Heavy gamers who prioritize sustained graphics performance should compare alternatives carefully. Video creators who regularly record ultrawide footage at night may find the camera limitations frustrating. Buyers who insist on LTPO display technology or selfie autofocus will also find omissions that are difficult to ignore at this price. And anyone shopping near the $800 mark should compare actual local prices rather than assume the HONOR is automatically cheaper than competing flagships. A discounted flagship from another brand may offer a different—and potentially more attractive—combination of features.
GSMArena's final assessment is positive, and the evidence supports that overall direction. The HONOR 600 Pro is well built, bright, fast, capable of excellent photographs and equipped with a battery that lasts. Those aren't superficial strengths. They're qualities people experience every day. But the review also reveals a phone with carefully chosen compromises. Its Snapdragon 8 Elite is still powerful, yet no longer the latest. Its display reaches remarkable brightness levels without LTPO. Its camera system produces excellent photographs but isn't equally convincing across every video mode. And at approximately $800, buyers are entitled to expect more than an attractive specification sheet.
The HONOR 600 Pro is an excellent everyday premium phone, but not an unquestionable flagship bargain.
Its appeal becomes strongest when its actual selling price undercuts newer flagship competitors by enough to make those compromises worthwhile. That's the detail to check before buying—not the 200MP badge, the peak-brightness headline or the size of the battery alone.
