OnePlus’s new Ace phones trade different camera options around gaming hardware. The Pro’s missing ultrawide matters more than its badge suggests.

OnePlus has announced its Ace 7 phones in China, and the most important distinction is easy to miss beneath the gaming specifications: buying the Pro means choosing a telephoto camera instead of an ultrawide.
That is a decision about the pictures you take. A zoom camera can help frame a distant subject; it cannot replace a wider view when there is no room to step back. The more expensive model therefore deserves a closer look before anyone treats it as the automatic upgrade.
GSMArena’s October 29 launch report lists CNY 4,399 for the Ace 7 and CNY 4,799 for Ace 7 Pro at matching 12GB/256GB configurations. The official Chinese shop now lists both products. This moves the story beyond the earlier camera teasers.
Belliste would pay the Pro premium only for features the buyer will use: its particular zoom option and gaming hardware need to earn the extra money, while the missing ultrawide is a real concession.
According to the launch report, the Pro combines a 200MP main camera with a 50MP, 3.5x telephoto and omits an ultrawide. The standard model substitutes an 8MP ultrawide for the telephoto. Those descriptions establish framing options, not final image quality.
For someone who photographs groups in small rooms, the standard phone’s wider camera may be more useful than the Pro’s reach. Someone recording a child on a stage might make the opposite choice. Neither example requires calling one camera system universally superior.
We would still want matched samples before judging moving faces, indoor noise or the transition between cameras. Resolution cannot answer those questions, and Belliste has not tested either phone.
Both phones emphasize active cooling and high refresh rates. GSMArena specifies that the Pro’s 185Hz mode applies to selected games, with ordinary applications capped at 165Hz. A shopper should not interpret the largest number as the behavior of every screen.
The report also describes a 9,000mAh battery and 100W charging for the Pro. That combination is relevant to long sessions, but it cannot establish how the phone behaves after sustained play. Fan noise, frame consistency and charging while warm require testing.
A useful demonstration would name the game and settings, disclose the fan mode and continue long enough to expose changes. A quick peak score leaves too much of the ownership experience unanswered.
The official product listings make these devices a current China-market choice. They do not establish a locally supported international model under another name. Reports suggesting that an Ace phone could become a future OnePlus 16R should remain outside a purchase calculation until that product is announced.
Import buyers should confirm the software supplied, essential application support and who accepts a repair claim. A currency conversion of the Chinese price does not include those conditions.
Use Belliste’s smartphone catalogue to compare alternatives at the same storage capacity. For an existing owner whose games already run comfortably, this launch is an opportunity to assess future options. For a new buyer, the first useful question is simpler: would the camera you lose be used more often than the camera you gain?
GSMArena’s launch report says it does not. It pairs a 200MP main camera with a 50MP 3.5x telephoto.
No. The report limits 185Hz to selected supported games and lists up to 165Hz for ordinary applications.
CNY 4,399 for Ace 7 and CNY 4,799 for Ace 7 Pro, both at 12GB/256GB in China.
No. A possible international rebranding remains speculation, not an established release.

POCO X8s combines a smaller display, telephoto camera and large battery. Its hardware is promising, but the software and camera results still need testing.

A new report suggests the next entry iPhone could retain a 60Hz screen. Its eventual price would matter more than an uncertain selfie-camera number.

OnePlus 16 launches in China with a 9,000mAh battery, 185Hz gaming display, 200MP main camera and 100W charging.
